The More Things Change…(get it?) Fantastic Four Epic Collection not only contains some late 80s FF action, but it also contains the rare Jim Starlin/Bernie Wrightson Hulk and Thing team-up graphic novel The Big Change.
The Epic Collection includes Fantastic Four #308-320, Fantastic Four Annual #21, The Incredible Hulk #350, and the aforementioned The Big Change graphic novel from 1987.
All stories from the comics are written by Steve Englehart and Peter David, with art by John Buscema, Keith Pollard, Sal Buscema, Kieron Dwyer, Romeo Tanghal, Joe Sinnott, Jeff Purves, and Terry Austin.
Marvel’s First Family undergoes a number of changes as The Thing takes over as the leader of the group, with a lineup including the Human Torch, Crystal, and Sharon “Ms. Marvel” Ventura. Ben and Sharon experience some drastic physical changes when they both get another dose of cosmic rays which makes Ben spiky and Sharon into a “She-Thing”.
Other highlights include the Fantastic Four’s involvement in Victor von Doom’s war with his adopted son Kristoff Vernard, an adventure across time and space kicked off by the Mole Man, and fights with Belasco, Master Pandemonium, the Beyonder, and the Hulk. Guest stars featured in the Epic Collection include the Black Panther, X-Factor, Doctor Strange, Comet Man, Ka-zar, Shanna, and Morbius, the Living Vampire.
