Nominations for the 2025 Eisner Awards have been announced and Fantagraphics leads the way with 24 nominations in a wide variety of categories.
Fantagraphics 24 nominations include three each for Emil Ferris’ My Favorite Thing Is Monsters Book Two, Olivier Schrauwen’s Sunday, and the anthology Now.
DC Comics came in second with ten nominations, with three for Mariko Tamaki and Javier Rodriguez’s Zatanna: Bring Down the House, Absolute Batman, and Absolute Wonder Woman.
First Second/Macmillan received seven nominations, including four for Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang and LeUyen Pham.
Abrams imprints also received seven nominations, with two for Manu Larcenet’s adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road.
In terms of comic series, Dark Horse Comics’ Helen of Wyndhorn scored multiple nominations for Best Limited Series, Best Writer (Tom King), Best Penciller/Inker (Bilquis Evely), and Best Cover Artist (Evely).
King also has the most individual nominations with four for the aforementioned Helen of Myndhorn, as well as Best Continuing Series (Wonder Woman), Best Limited Series (Animal Pound and Best Writer.
In total, this year’s nominees encompass 32 categories, with over 150 print and online titles from 70 publishers, produced by creators from all over the world.r
The Will Eisner Awards are celebrating their 37th year in 2025 and will take place on July 25, 2025, at San Diego Comic-Con.
