The first Catwoman DC Finest collection focuses on the reinvention of Selina Kyle as a monthly comic star in Catwoman: Life Line.
Following in the tradition of Batman: Year One, Life Line opens with the very first Catwoman solo series, 1989’s four-issue mature readers Catwoman mini-series by Mindy Newell and J.J. Birch, adding needed context and angst to her origin story.
The Catwoman: Defiant one-shot by Peter Milligan, Tom Grindberg, and Dick Giordano is also included as the bridge to 1993’s more mainstream and popular continuing series in Catwoman #1-12 by Jo Duffy, Chuck Dixon, Jim Balent, Federico Cueva, Ande Parks, and Rick Burchett.
Other highlights include: Catwoman Annual #1 Elseworlds’ story by Christopher Priest, Federico Cueva. and Alberto Pez, and anthology stories from Action Comics #611-614 (“The Tin Roof Club” by Newell, Barry Kitson, and Bruce Patterson) and Showcase 93 #1-4 (“Sorrow Street” by Doug Moench, Ed Hannigan, and Fred Fredericks).
DC Finest: Catwoman: Life Line consists of 600 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
