Not every project leaves the lauching pad on the most popular crowdfunding platform in the universe, but if your projects happens to be a comic book, graphic novel, or comic art project, your chances of rocketing into orbit are far greater than most.
According to the director of publishing & comics outreach at Kickstarter, Oriana Leckert, Kickstarter comics campaigns have raised over $5.5 million in the first quarter of 2022 and continue to be the sub-group with the highest success rate, a title that comics category has held for six year running.
Other curious pieces of evidence that demonstrate the continued health of comics and graphic novels on Kickstarter: 51% of successful comics creators begin another project within 12 months of their first campaign and if a projects attracts at least 25 backers, said project has an 87% chance of becoming a reality.
