Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting’s epic Captain America run continues in Book Two of the Captain America Modern Era Epic Collection.
Captain America: Death of the Dream covers stories from 2006 to 2007 in Captain America #18-30, #25 Directors Cut, the Winter Soldier: Winter Kills one-shot, and Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America #1-5.
In addition to Brubaker and Epting, the collection also contains work by Jeph Loeb, Mike Perkins, Lee Weeks, Stephan Gaudiano, Rick Hoberg, Leinil Francis Yu, Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines, John Romita, Jr., Klaus Janson, David Finch, Danny Miki, and John Cassaday.
Death of the Dream reunites Steve Rogers with Bucky Barnes right before both are thrown into a Civil War with Tony Stark, which culminates with the assassination of Rogers. Sam Wilson, Sharon Carter, and Barnes are left to contend with the Red Skull and his minions such as Sin, Crossbones and a new Serpent Squad, while they try to unravel the mystery of Cap’s murder.
Captain America: Death of the Dream consists of 520 pages for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
