Writer Brandon Easton and Artist Fico Ossio Continue the Adventures of Shilo Norman in ‘Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom’

Brandon Easton and Fico Ossio will continue the adventures of the third man to go by the name of Miracle Man in Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom this May. The six-issue mini-series spins out of Easton and artist Valentine De Landro’s DC Future State: Superman: Worlds at War, which featured Shiloh Norman back in the role of Mister Miracle.

Similar to the upcoming Wonder Girl series by Joelle Jones, Easton and Ossio will show how the hero came of age before the events that take place in DC Future State. Easton says that “This series functions as a de facto origin story and a reintroduction of Shilo Norman. Fico and I have a fantastic opportunity to establish him as a major hero in the DC pantheon, while making him a more complex character.”

Norman (who hasn’t been featured in the DC Universe since Grant Morrison’s Seven Soldiers of Victory mini-series brought the character back from obscurity in 2005) will also explore “…what it means to be a Black superhero in a world where his heroism is in conflict with a society full of distrust and suspicion.”

Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom will debut on May 4 with a 32-page issue with a cover by Yanick Paquette and a card stock variant cover by Valentine De Landro. Check out Paquette’s cover below and stay tuned to Conskipper for more DC news.
