The ingenious team split featuring one team of mutants led by Cyclops (Blue) and one by Storm(Gold) doubled up on mutant action and sale in the boom period of the early ’90s.
The Blue team (in X-Men) face a variety of obstacles in the form of Magneto, Omega Red, Mojo and the Brood. The Gold team (in Uncanny X-Men) encounter a visitor from the future called Bishop and more trouble with the Morlocks.
Both X-Men teams, X-Factor, and X-Force are pitted against one another in the twelve-part “X-Cutioner’s Song” when Professor Xavier is reportedly assassinated by Cable, leading to an all-out mutant war.
The Omnibus also includes 1992’s summer annual crossover “Shattershot” involving all of the mutant teams, Longshot, Shatterstar, and Mojo.
