Warner Bros. Drops Trailer for ‘Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One’

Batman fans are one step closer to unraveling the mystery of the Holiday Killer with today’s trailer reveal for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One. The animated feature is based on the 13-issue 1996 classic comic by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. The new trailer sets up the dark storyline of the film and introduces viewers to the tip of the iceberg of the story’s extensive rogues gallery.

Warner Bros. Entertainment released the following synopsis for the film with today’s trailer:

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham’s young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city’s only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordan and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious and powerful Falcone Crime Family. But when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that, instead of ordinary gang violence, they’re also dealing with a serial killer – the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern. Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World’s Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer.”

The film will launch on Blu-Ray and digital formats on June 22nd, 2021. Much like the animated treatment for The Dark Knight Returns, the two-part format for The Long Halloween will allow the filmmakers to include every last detail from the source material.
