Ron Frenz, Tom DeFalco, and Joe Sinnott continue their late ’80s run on Thor in the reprinted Thor: In Mortal Flesh Epic Collection.
In Mortal Flesh collects Thor #401-418 and Thor Annual #14. In addition to Frenz, Defalco, and Sinnott, Ron’s brother, Randall Frenz, and Rich Yanizeski and Al Milgrom fill in on Thor #401 and Roy Thomas pens the “Atlantis Attacks” crossover in Thor Annual #14, with art by Milgrom and Don Heck.
The Epic Collection highlights include Thor’s acceptance of another mortal secret identity, a titanic clash with the Juggernaut that also introduces the New Warriors to the Marvel Universe, and battles with numerous foes such as Quicksand, Mongoose, the Executioner, Annihilus, Doctor Doom, the High Evolutionary, and the Wrecking Crew and new member Ulik.
Thor also receives help from a variety of comrades along the way such as fellow god Hercules, She-Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Thing, Beta Ray Bill, and Quasar.
The Thor: In Mortal Flesh Epic Collection contains 488 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
The first edition of In Mortal Flesh was originally released in 2017.
