The Terminator is Back in the World of Comics

Dynamite Entertainment’s new licensing agreement with STUDIOCANAL S.A.S. to bring The Terminator series back to comics seems doubly important in 2024.

It is not only the 40th anniversary of the sci-fi classic, but it is also the year that AI will probably become self-aware, allowing us to glean some tips from the comics in preparation for the eventual war with Skynet.

With six films, a television series, and comics to draw from, Dynamite will be launching new material as well as reprints of classic stories from the 1990s and beyond.

Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher, said “We’re excited to treat fans to a great celebration for the groundbreaking 40th anniversary of this beloved mythos bringing both new stories and collecting the library of existing comics.”

The Terminator first appeared in a comic book in Now Comics self-titled series in 1988. The cybernetic killer and defender has appeared in dozens of series since from Dark Horse, Marvel, Malibu, Dynamite, IDW, and even card-price guide kings Beckett in their short-lived foray into the world of comics.
