If you are looking to deck out your next Halloween party with an array of delicious tricks and treats that will create a sense of antici……pation in your guests, you may want to consult Kim Laidlaw’s new The Rocky Horror Cookbook.
That light that you see “over at the Frankenstein place” may just be a kitchen light illuminating appetizers like Magenta Mash(ed) Potato Cakes and Thrill Me Chill Me Spicy Gazpacho and eclectic main courses such as Rocky’s Mussels, Riff Raff Ramen, and Slow-Cooked Thigh Ragu.

And while the hearty entrees and main courses may be a lot of work to whip up “on the slab”, the list of Rocky Horror-themed cocktails (the Dark and Stormy and the Sword of Damocles Sundowner) and desserts (Midnight Double Chocolate Feature Brownies and Go Both Ways Black and White Cookies) may be just the thing for the busy party planner. The sweet cocktails and dessert instructions are definitely more accessible to the the novice, than most of the savory offerings (although Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s Hot and Spicy Chili Dogs should be a snap).

The cookbook also offers a foreward by Rocky Horror creator and Riff Raff actor Richard O’Brien and an introduction by the author Kim Laidlaw. Laidlaw sets up each recipe with an opening paragraph as well, describing the dish or revealing facts and lore about the beloved rock musical. Even those who don’t intend to dive too deep into their own creations will find the cookbook as good read (and will also salivate over the full-color shots of each item).
The Rocky Horror Cookbook is currently available at finer book stores everywhere.
