If you grew up in the 1980s, there was only one name that you associated with the Flash, and that was Wally West.
After the untimely death of Barry Allen (who stayed dead for almost three decades) in Crisis on Infinite Earths, Allen’s protege and the former Kid Flash took the baton and ran with it in a brand new series in 1987.
That series is being commemorated in the new The Flash by William Messner-Loebs and Greg LaRocque Omnibus Vol. 1.
The Omnibus collects The Flash #1-28, The Flash Annual #1-3, Manhunter #8-9, Secret Origins Annual #2, and Flash highlights (individual pages) from Invasion #2-3.
While William Messner-Loebs and Greg LaRocque get top billing, the series was actually started by Mike Baron, Jackson Guice, and Larry Mahlstedt (with additional art by Mike Collins, Jack Torrance, and Romeo Tanghal) and the creative team ran with the title all the way up to issue #14 and the first Annual in the new series. William Messner-Loebs and Greg LaRocque would begin their extended run in The Flash #15.
The Manhunter Invasion crossover is presented by John Ostrander, Kim Yale, Frank Springer, and Pablo Marcos
Other writing and art by Jim Mooney, Gordon Purcell, John Koch, Carmine Infantino, Tim Dzon, Tom Poston, Murphy Anderson, and Frank McLaughlin is featured in the annuals and on the Invasion pages.
The hardcover Omnibus consists of 986 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
