‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ Silences ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ For Box Office Victory

Even with audiences having the choice to watch the latest Conjuring film at home or in theaters, The Devil Made Me Do It opened at number one and unseated last week’s horror show, A Quiet Place Part II, for the weekend box office victory.

The third Conjuring film took in $24 million domestically and added an additional $33.1 million overseas in its opening weekend, in spite of the fact that the film was available to view at home on HBO Max.

Last week’s champ, A Quiet Place Part II, finished in second place with a respectable $19.5 million, although down nearly 59% from last weekend. The Emily Blunt-led creature feature is poised to pass Godzilla vs Kong this week as the highest grossing domestic title of 2021 (a title that that film will hold until major competition like F9 and Black Widow arrive on the scene in late June and early July).
