‘Superpowered: The DC Story’ Documentary Series Coming to Max in July

Max’s three-part documentary series entitled Superpowered: The DC Story will begin on July 20.

Superpowered examines the history and cultural influence of DC Comics and all related media over the span of nine decades.

The series is narrated by Rosario Dawson and co-directed by Oscar nominee Leslie Iwerks and Emmy nominee Mark Catalena.

The docuseries features over 60 new and archival interviews with the some of the comic and film industry’s most prolific writers, artists, actors, directors, and executives.

The first episode of the new series will debut as part of Warner Bros. Television’s Preview Night on Wednesday, July 19 at San Diego Comic Con (for those in attendance, you can catch the premiere in Ballroom 20).

The documentary is executive produced by Iwerks, Catalena, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, Jim Lee, Doug Prinzivalli, Rachael Jerahian, Jonathan Gabay, and Adam Schlagman.
