DC Comics continue their wacky foray into Superman’s Silver Age in the second volume of the popular Omnibus series.
Superman: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2 1st collects Superman stories from Action Comics #266-288, Superman #138-153, and Batman #140.
All stories are written by Otto Binder, Jerry Siegel, Jerry Coleman, Robert Bernstein, Edmond Hamilton, Bill Finger, and Leo Dorfman, with art by Wayne Boring, Stan Kaye, Al Plastino, Curt Swan, John Forte, Kurt Schaffenberger, Sheldon Molodoff, George Klein, and George Papp.
Superman contends with a number of terrestrial, extraterrestrial, and interdimensional threats in the collection, taking on Titano, Mr. Mxyzptlk Hercules, Samson, Brainiac, a Kryptonian Flame-Dragon, the Legion of Super-Villains, and Bizarro.
Memorable storylines include such Silver Age classics as Krypto vs. Streaky in the battle of the Super Pets, the Son of Bizarro, Bizarro meets Frankenstein, Lois Lane becomes Superwoman, Old Man Superman, a return to Krypton, troubles with the unpredictable Red Kryptonite, and even a Super Merman transformation.
Superman: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 1 also contains a brand-new foreword by Jerry Ordway about Supes’ Silver Age adventures.
Superman: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2 consists of 784 pages for a suggested retail price of $100.00.
