Steve Englehart and Frank Brunner’s seminal Doctor Strange run from the 1970s is collected in the new Doctor Strange: Master of the Mystic Arts Omnibus.
The new Omnibus collects the Doctor’s relaunch in Marvel Premiere #3-14, Doctor Strange #1-22, Doctor Strange Annual #1, and The Tomb of Dracula #44.
Along with Englehart and Brunner, the collection includes work by Barry Windsor-Smith, Roy Thomas, Archie Goodwin, Gardner F. Fox, Mike Friedrich, Marv Wolfman, P. Craig Russell, Gene Colan, Sam Kweskin, Jim Starlin, Alfredo Alcala, Rudy Nebres, Dan Adkins, Don Perlin, Sal Buscema, Mike Esposito, Frank Giacoia, David Hunt, Ernie Chan, Dick Giordano, Alan Weiss, Klaus Janson, John Romita Sr., Tom Palmer, and Frank Chiaramonte.
Englehart and Brunner’ take Strange down even darker corridors with a good helping of Lovecraftian horror added to the original psychedelic leanings. Strange deals with all manner of supernatural menaces including Baron Mordo, Dormammu, Eternity, Count Dracula, Satan, Nightmare, Sligguth, Shuma-Gorath, N’Gabthoth, Dagoth, the Gargoyle, Sise-Neg, Cagliostro, the Silver Dagger, the Knights of the Rostrum, Umar & Orini, Stygyro, and the unforgetable Xander the Merciless
