The next line-wide X-Men crossover, “Sins of Sinister”, will bring more trouble to Krakoa and mutantkind this January.
The just announced event (at NYCC 2022) begins with a giant-sized one-shot of the same name by Kieron Gillen and Lucas Werneck, before spinning out into three transformed X-Men mini-series called Immoral X-Men, Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants, and Nightcrawlers.
The three spin-offs will be created by Gillen, Al Ewing, Si Spurrier, Paco Medina, Patch Zircher, and Alessandro Vitti.
The series will imagine yet another dark future for the mutants, introducing a new timeline dominated by Mr. Sinister.
The event concludes with Sins of Sinister: Dominion bookend in April.
Gillen described the set-up at the ‘Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing’ panel saying that “Sinister’s lurked around, being sinister for all the Krakoan Age. Eventually, he was going to make a play. This is it, and it’s bigger than you can imagine, stretching across 1000 years of nightmares. Dystopic future stories are an X-Men classic. We wanted to find a new way to approach that, and give something we haven’t seen before. I think we’ve pulled it off.”
