Pat Mills and Oliver Ledroit’s original collaboration, SHA: The Shadow One, comes to Kickstarter in both a regular and deluxe edition format.
Mills describes SHA: The Shadow as a “science fantasy, revenge story set in the futuristic, nightmare city of New Eden. It features Detective Duffy, who is assigned to hunt down the deadly assassin SHA.”
“In fact, SHA was originally inspired by my Sláine saga, where I first came across Scatha, an amazing, Irish champion who taught Celtic Cuchulain his martial arts which surely makes her … the ultimate warrior! This astonishing hero evolved into SHA – The Shadow One” Mills said.
The duo followed up their work on SHA with the popular Requiem, Vampire Knight series in 2000. Volume 12 in the series was published this year.
The first book in the three-volume series was originally published in France and was reprinted as a Heavy Metal trade paperback in 2008.
This deluxe edition is exclusive to Kickstarter and will not be available for sale anywhere else.
A number of upgrades and add-ons are available as part of the Kickstarter campaign such as SHA #1 script & synopsis signed by Mills, a bookplate signed by the writer and artist, sets of postcards of the art gallery, signed art prints of the art gallery, signed copies of Kiss My Axe, and copies of Be Pure! Be Vigilant! Behave! and Spacewarp Punx Edition.
You can even get a personal “Fix Your Script” consultancy (which consists of one hour of Mills reading your script in advance of your one hour one-to-one video call) and a one-on-one, hour-long conversation with Mills called “The Magic of SHA” (via video call).
The Kickstarter campaign wraps up on Sunday, December 8.
