Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans were thrilled to see a live-action version of Ahsoka Tano appear on Disney+’s runaway hit series The Mandalorian. And with Disney’s plan to dominate the streaming world, it is probably no surprise that Rosario Dawson will return as the double lightsaber wielding hero in an upcoming Ahsoka Tano limited series.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the announcement at the annual Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day. The new series will take place concurrently with The Mandalorian and the just announced Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic. Dave Filoni (the man behind the original animated adventures of Ahsoka Tano) and Jon Favreau will executive produce the series. Clone Wars fans will also be happy to hear that Filoni will be writing the series based on the break-out star of the animated series.
With Admiral Thrawn being mentioned at the end of her appearance on The Mandalorian, it appears that the character may also make his live-action debut (Thrawn was last seen hurtling through space in a battle with Star Wars: Rebels Ezra Bridger).
