The son of Captain Mar-Vell returns (from the dead no less) for Peter David and Juanan Ramirez’s Genis-Vell: Captain Marvel mini-series this June.
The five issue mini-series spins directly out of Kelly Thompson’s “The Last of the Marvels” Captain Marvel storyline and sees the genetically-engineered son of Marvel’s original Kree hero reunite with his former partner, Rick Jones, as they try to figure out a way to survive before they both fade out of existence.
David is excited to get back to the character that he defined over the course of sixty issues and two series, saying “I never thought I’d have the opportunity to return to Genis, what with him being dead and all. But apparently death never lasts… which is actually one of the themes of the limited series I came up with. It’s great to be back with Genis, Rick, Marlo and the whole Genis-Vell gang.”
Genis-Vell: Captain Marvel #1 will be available at your local comic shop this June.
