Paul Levitz Pens His First Marvel Comic with ‘Avengers: War Across Time’ Mini-Series

Eisner Hall of Famer, and longtime DC Comics writer, Paul Levitz writes his first-ever Marvel Comics story in an upcoming five-issue Avengers limited series with artist Alan Davis.

January’s Avengers: War Across Time takes place in the early days of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Don Heck’s Avengers run featuring the ever-devious time travelling lord by the name of Kang the Conqueror.

The original Avengers team of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Giant-Man, and the Wasp begin the story by taking on disgruntled founding member The Hulk, showcasing some classic Davis Avengers artwork (which you can preview below).

Although Levitz built his career at DC, the writer admits that “I learned much of my writing craft from The Avengers, and it’s been a delight to pay homage to my old friends Stan, Jack and Don by trying to do something that might have been an extended issue #11.1. We’ve been cooking this up for a long time, and I hope readers have as much fun with it as I did.”
