New Editions of ‘Scarlet’ and ‘Torso’ Join Brian Michael Bendis’ Jinxworld Line at Dark Horse Comics

Two classic Jinxworld titles, Scarlet and Torso, will be released as part of Dark Horse Comics’ new association with Brian Michael Bendis this summer.

Originally published by Marvel’s Icon imprint, Scarlet, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Alex Maleev will contain new behind the scenes material, sketches, and design concepts, collecting all original 15 issues in the omnibus format.

Scarlet focuses on “…a young woman pushed to the edge by a world filled by police brutality, government corruption, and unspeakable crimes. After a mysterious murder and a near-death experience, Scarlet Rue wakes from a coma with her world shattered. Fueled by rage, guilt, and her vision of a better future; she takes the fight to her oppressors… and anyone else who gets in her way. Striking back against the corrupt cops who tore her life apart and sparks an uprising in this all too real tale of power, corruption, and lies.

Torso, one of Bendis’ earliest crime comics (along with co-writer Marc Andreyko and illustrated by Bendis) will sport a re-designed cover, presenting the 1999 Eisner Award-winner for Comic Book Excellence for a new generation of true crime fans.

Torso recounts the investigation into one of America’s first known serial killers by Al Capone nemesis, Elliot Ness.

The Scarlet trade paperback will be available at your local comic shop and everywhere books are sold on May 4, 2022 for a retail price of $29.99. The Torso trade paperback will be available on June 1, 2022 for $19.99.
