Brian Michael Bendis’ ‘Jinxworld’ Lands at Dark Horse Comics, Including Upcoming ‘Joy Operations’

Brian Michael Bendis brings his long-standing line of creator-owned titles to Dark Horse Comics in November, including the brand new series Joy Operations.

Bendis’ imprint Jinxworld is the home to numerous critically acclaimed series and the writer is “…proud to call Dark Horse Comics home! From Dark Horse Presents all the way up to Black Hammer, Dark Horse has been at the forefront of the kind of creator-owned comics I personally adore and aspire to. This partnership has been brewing for a very long time. Mike Richardson, Daniel Chabon, and everyone else at Dark Horse has welcomed us with open arms and it’s very exciting to start rolling out our brand-new epics like Joy Operations and reintroduce you to some of our classic Jinxworld titles like PowersTorso, and Jinx. Any of my friends will tell you I wished those books were published by Dark Horse back when we first made them. To the future!”

First up for the new partnership is the sci-fi noir thriller Joy Operations, written by Bendis with art by Stephen Byrne, followed by all new chapters of the yakuza story, Pearl (with art by Michael Gaydos), the three-time Eisner nominated spy thriller Cover (with David Mack) and an all-new installment in the Murder Inc. series (with Michael Avon Oeming and Taki Soma).

Dark Horse’s Jinxworld editor, Daniel Chabon, is “…happy to be working with Brian, Alisa, and their roster of insanely talented co-creators on these upcoming Jinxworld stories. We have some really amazing books in the works right now and I can’t wait for folks to see what we have in store from them and Dark Horse’s expanding creator-owned universe.”

Upcoming unannounced projects by Alex Maleev, Jacob Edgar, and more are also on the horizon, as well as new editions of Pearl, Powers (including a new printing of the elusive Powers: The Best Ever graphic novel), Torso, and Scarlet.

Joy Operations #1 will be in store on November 17 and will also feature a variant cover by Mack (which you can preview below, along with a new cover by Avon Oeming for Powers: The Best Ever).
