Anticipation for writer and director Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was sky high even before Namor was announced as the prime adversary in his upcoming film, and the aquatic warrior’s on-screen debut has kept interest in the film at a fever pitch.
Helping fan the flames, Marvel Studios new featurette gives those anxious fans even more information about the MCU’s version of Prince Namor (played by Huerta Mejía).
Coogler says that “Introducing Namor for us was really an opportunity to introduce another politician, another sovereign ruler of a group of people who represents more than himself,”
Long-time Marvel Comics fans understand that Namor is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, and Coogler explained that his version also has “…no equal in terms of his capabilities, being able to breathe underwater and breathe at high altitudes and walk around on land. He’s incredibly strong, he’s as strong as Thor, and if he’s around enough water he can be as strong as the Hulk.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever opens in theaters on November 11.
