You’ll be able to watch Jaws the old-fashioned way on the anniversary of the film’s original release date in 1975, with a three-hour telecast featuring a special introduction by Steven Spielberg on Friday, June 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
“Universal is home to the biggest movies in the world and it doesn’t get any bigger than Jaws,” said Jenny Storms, Chief Marketing Officer, NBCUniversal Television & Streaming. “We want to celebrate 50 years of this enduring film that has captured the public imagination for generations by bringing it to audiences at home in all the ways they love to watch.”
Jaws will also begin streaming exclusively on Peacock on June 15 through July 14, along with all of the Jaws sequels.
If you want to own a new 50th Anniversary Edition of Jaws, the film will be available on June 17 on Digital and in a Combo Pack (4K / Blu-ray / Digital) from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
The 50th Anniversary Edition will also include the new Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story documentary by Laurent Bouzereau. The documentary will debut on the National Geographic Channel on July 10 at 9:00 pm ET, followed by the film’s premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on July 11.
