Mezco Toyz Static Six ‘Conan the Barbarian’ (1982) Statue: The Conskipper Review

I’ve owned many, many statues in my lifetime, and very few of them caused me to repeatedly say, “Oh my god!” as I unpacked them and looked at them. This, my friends, is one of those pieces! The Mezco Toyz Static Six Conan the Barbarian (1982) Statue is simply perfect in every single category, including sculpt, paint, details, packaging, and price. At $375 shipped, there is simply no better Conan piece out there today.

Faithfully recreating the iconic Renato Casaro poster art in a fully fleshed out 3D display, Mezco strikingly captured Arnold Schwarzenegger’s and Sandahl Bergman’s portraits and likenesses in every way. Each character’s statue is large and weighty, and the paint apps include all sorts of little details like bulging veins and dirt and grime. Even the base is detailed and ornate, with a metallic color to the logo which accurately captures how it’s appeared in media over the decades. I could talk about this for hours, but I know you’re here for the pictures of this gorgeous piece!

This piece simply looks incredible from every angle! There isn’t a single spot where the likenesses appear off from a certain angle. This statue rivals pieces from Mezco’s competitors which cost two to three times as much. It’s unbelievable that Mezco can offer such an amazing statue for such a reasonable price.

The Static Six line is something to keep an eye on, because each and every entry has been really good so far. But this Conan the Barbarian piece really takes the cake for being one of the most awe-inspiring pieces I’ve opened and displayed in years. If you love Conan, do whatever you have to do to get this piece in your collection as soon as possible!
