It should be no surprise that blood will be spilled in Marvel Comics upcoming vampire/superhero war called Blood Hunt by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz.
What is more of a surprise is that Marvel will issue exclusive Red Band Editions of each issue of the Blood Hunt event series, giving readers even more gore on each page.
Blood Hunt #1 is the first Marvel comic book with the new designation and each copy will be labeled with a Parental Advisory warning and polybagged to prevent prying eyes from seeing too much (and so you buy the issue contained inside).
Blood Hunt #1 Red Band Edition marks the first time that a different edition of the same Marvel comic book has been produced for more mature readers and with more explicit content.
The five-issue limited series will also feature many tie-in issues and spinoff series, including the upcoming Werewolf by Night ongoing series which will be Marvel’s second experiment with Red Band content. However, unlike Blood Hunt, Werewolf by Night will only be produced under the Red Band banner, and is intended for mature audiences only.
Blood Hunt will include the Avengers, Blade, Bloodline, Spider-Man, Hunter’s Moon, Tigra, Doctor Strange, Clea, and more vampires than you can fit within the borders of Transylvania.
Look for the first issue of Blood Hunt (both versions) at your favorite comic book shop on May 1.
