Marvel’s Netflix Content Reverts to Disney

If you have been waiting to watch any of Marvel’s Netflix series, you better get them in before March 1 when the licensing rights revert back to the Disney Company.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders will all disappear from Netflix, although their new home has yet to be announced by Marvel. The obvious landing spot is bound to be disney+ (especially with the “Netflix-Marvel-esque” Moon Knight on the way and Daredevil’s Kingpin appearance in Hawkeye), but Hulu has also housed some of Marvel’s more -adult fare such as the Cloak and Dagger and Helstrom) in the past.

For those hoping for new material from the “Marvel Knights” group, Charlie Cox’s appearance as Daredevil in the mega-hit, Spider-Man: No Way Home, hasn’t hurt their chances. According to Nielsen’s streaming numbers from late December of 2021, his cameo drove new fans to Netflix where Daredevil was viewed a total of 195 million minutes from December 20-28, landing the series in eight place for that time period.
