Margot Robbie’s next big movie role will take her to the high seas! The popular actress is set to star as a swashbuckling pirate in her very own female-led Pirates of the Caribbean film for Disney.
Variety reports that the project will serve as a reunion of sorts, as Robbie will reteam with Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson for the picture. Hodson will also write the new Pirates screenplay. Jerry Bruckheimer is set to produce, as he has for all previous entries in the Pirates franchise.
There is another Pirates of the Caribbean reboot being worked on by Pirates veteran Ted Elliott and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin, but the two projects are completely separate at this time. Neither project currently has an official release date.
