Disney D23 Postpones Destination D: Fantastic Worlds Event

Walt Disney World may have just reopened its first resorts on property yesterday, but that doesn’t mean that all of its events will now proceed as planned. D23, The Official Disney Fan Club, just announced that this year’s Destination D event will be postponed until 2021.

In an official statement on Twitter, the company cited, “the global impact of the COVID-19 virus and the protocols necessary to ensure social distancing” as the reason for the postponement:

Destination D: Fantastic Worlds was originally set to be held at Walt Disney World from November 20th through the 22nd of 2020. D23 wrote on their official blog that the event would, “honor Disney’s many magical places, from the extraordinary to the fantastical. In addition, the Walt Disney Archives is creating an all-new exhibit that will include 50 iconic treasures, representing the 50 years of the Archives.”

D23 will announce the new date for Destination D: Fantastic Worlds by the end of 2020. Stay tuned to Conskipper for complete coverage of all Disney conventions as soon as it breaks!
