Loki may very well be the most popular villain in the Marvel Universe, and with his upcoming Disney+ series this May, it has never been a better time to explore his deceitful origins.
“The Prince of Lies” gets his very own Marvel Omnibus collection this August and it will feature every Loki story from Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s run on Thor, as well as other classic stories from the 1960s and 1970s. Aside from tormenting his big brother, the Omnibus also includes his inadvertent formation of The Avengers, a spell for spell battle with Doctor Stephen Strange, a Hulk kidnapping, and an encounter with the Silver Surfer.
The Loki Vol. 1 Omnibus contains: Avengers (1963) #1, Journey into Mystery (1952) #111, 113, 115-123, Thor (1966) #153-157, 167, 173, 175-177, 179-181 and Thor Annual #2, as well as stories from Journey into Mystery (1952) #85, 88, 91-92, 94, 97, 100-104, 107-108, 110, 112, 114, 124-125, Thor (1966) #126-129, 142, 147-152, Strange Tales (1951) #123, Tales to Astonish (1959) #101, and Silver Surfer (1968) #4.
All of the issues are written by Lee and Robert Bernstein with art by Kirby, Steve Ditko, Marie Severin, John Buscmea, Joe Sinnott, and Neal Adams.
The Loki Vol. 1 Omnibus is tentatively scheduled for an August 10 release date. The Omnibus will come with two distinct covers; one by Mark Brooks and a comic shop only variant by Kirby.
