Yoshitaka Amano, the incredible artist whose work has defined the Final Fantasy video game franchise and took The Sandman into a radical visual direction, has brought his signature style to a variant cover of a brand new Harley Quinn series.
The image was revealed by Harley Quinn Issue 1 writer Stephanie Phillips on her Twitter account:
Phillips announced on December 6th that she would be writing the new book. She previously penned Future State: Harley Quinn. Riley Rossmo will provide the art for the new book.
Yoshitaka Amano’s first voyage into the world of comics was in 1999 for The Sandman: The Dream Hunters with Neil Gaiman. Amano collaborated with Gaiman again in 2015 for a David Bowie project called The Return of the Thin White Duke. Amano’s first portrayal of superheroes was in 2002 with Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer. Harley Quinn #1 will mark the first time he has drawn the titular character.
Harley Quinn #1 will debut in comic stores in March of 2021. Stay tuned to Conskipper for complete coverage of all things Harley Quinn as soon as it breaks!
