Kevin Smith, Andy McElfresh, and R.B. Silva exorcise Bruce Banner in the Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire and Brimstone five-issue mini-series.
The wild and wooly story begins when Easter Mass in Central Park is crashed by the Mole Man and an assortment of other “Man-themed” supervillains (such as Sandman and the Absorbing Man). After Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk show up to stop the villains, Peter Parker and Matt Murdock attempt to assist Bruce Banner with his first exorcism.
“I’ve played with Peter Parker and swung with Spider-Man before but this is the first time I’m having Hulk issues!” Smith said. “Andy and I are dropping two of Marvel’s most well-known scientists into a spiritual story of Biblical proportions as we exorcise the Incredible Hulk—and I’m not talking cross-fit!”
Kevin Smith fans will also want to pick up the Jay and Silent Bob: Jays of Future Past #1 one-shot earlier this summer on June 10.
