For many, the future may look bleak, but even the most pessimistic prognosticators can’t imagine a future like the world of Judge Dredd and Mega City One. However, if you are the type of person that would like to visit the futuristic, dystopian “city of the future” Little Lion Entertainment is ready to provide you with a brand new multi-level,escape room-style attraction based on 2000 AD’s very own iron-jawed law giver in 2021!
Judge Dredd Uprising: The LIVE Experience consists of theatrical elements and mental and physical challenges inside of an immersive, comic-inspired landscape. The attraction will include realistic sets, interactive technology and a real-life group of 1980’s inspired mutants, robots, & punks to contend with. Players will engage with five distinct zones featuring various challenges, including a laser-tag combat arena (because you can’t visit Mega City One without a patented Dredd fire fight). One of the zones will even transport you outside the walls of the city to the nuclear wastelands of The Cursed Earth.
In the official press release for the attraction, Tom Lionetti-Maguire, founder and CEO of Little Lion, proclaimed that “The experience is part comic book, part sci-fi film, part immersive theatre, part escape room, part action adventure and part indoor theme park… all wrapped into one.”
Judge Dredd was created in 1977 by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra, and has been patrolling the pages of 2000 AD ever since. If you haven’t caught up on Dredd’s adventures in awhile, head over to the 2000 AD website and sign up for their newsletter to gain access to 100s of pages of free digital comics.
