‘JLA/Avengers’ Facsimile Issues to Feature Two New Alex Ross Covers

This summer, DC Comics and Marvel Comics will release facsimilie editions of the 2003-2004 JLA/Avengers series by Kurt Busiek and George Pérez with two new variant covers by Alex Ross.

The new Ross cover art is a two-piece connecting image that was created exclusively for these new facsimile editions and will appear on the cover of issues #3 and #4. The split cover is a homage to George Pérez’s cover of 1983’s Comics Interview Special Edition #6.

The entire four-issue series will be co-published by DC and Marvel, with each company taking turns releasing the comics, starting with JLA/Avengers #1 on May 27.

The standard covers will feature the classic Pérez covers.

The cross-universe action starts in the story when the Justice League faces off against Terminus and the Avengers go up against Starro.

The series was last reprinted by the Hero Initiative as a limited edition trade paperback to help honor and support Perez and his family during the late artist’s battle with pancreatic cancer.
