Jeff Lemire has signed an exclusive deal with Image Comics for all upcoming projects starting in 2022 and for the foreseeable future.
The length of the deal is uncertain, but Lemire has a number of new projects coming in 2022 for the writer/artist beginning with a new collaboration with Dustin Nguyen on Little Monsters in March and June’s The Bone Orchard Mythos with Andrea Sorrentino.
Lemire is excited to be working with Image Comics and after working “…with Image on so many projects over the last decade, I’ve come to appreciate the complete creative freedom and support that they’ve provided me. I’m excited to make Image the exclusive home for all my projects in the years to come, both solo projects that I will draw myself, and my various collaborations. Bone Orchard and Little Monsters are just the start of what I have planned this year and beyond.”
Black Hammer fans can rest assured that Lemire’s Black Hammer Reborn will continue at Dark Horse Comics.
Besides all of the comics coming from Lemire in the future, many of his previous comics have been optioned for film and television projects such as Essex County (in development at CBC), Underwater Welder (Waypoint Entertainment with Ryan Gosling attached as producer), Snow Angels (at AMC), Gideon Falls (Hivemind), Descender (Lark and NBC Universal), and Family Tree (Orion). Lemire’s 2009 Vertigo series Sweet Tooth was recently adapted by Netflix as well.
