Marvel Comics will help celebrate the 35th Anniversary of James Cameron’s Aliens with a follow-up story to the film entitled Aliens: Aftermath.
The one-shot, double-sized comic by Benjamin Percy and Dave Wacther will revisit the attack on the outpost on LV-426 called Hadley’s Hope when a group of intrepid journalists dig into the true story of what happened to the colony, and naturally, the Weyland-Yutani corporation isn’t too fond of the truth (or journalists for that matter).
Percy seems like the perfect choice to pen the continuation of the Aliens film, and his love for the film stretches back to his childhood when he “…had a door-length poster of a xenomorph crashing through the wood, tearing off the hinges, creeping forward with a drippy fanged smile. This is the image I would drift away to every night, which no doubt influenced my imaginative hard-wiring, along with the films and comics that I watched and read over and over and over.”
Aliens: Aftermath #1 will hits stands on July 14 and you can get a look at the cover by Phil Noto below.
