The latest Amazing Spider-Man Epic Collection, appropriately titled Spider-Man or Spider-Clone?, wraps up Gerry Conway’s legendary run on the title with the infamous “Clone Saga”.
Spider-Man or Spider-Clone? includes The Amazing Spider-Man #143-164 and The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #10 by Conway, Archie Goodwin, and Len Wein (who took the reins from Conway in late 1975) with art by Ross Andru, Gil Kane, Sal Buscema, Frank Giacoia, Dave Hunt, John Romita Sr., and Mike Esposito.
The “Clone Saga” that would eventually create a seismic shift in Spidey’s (and fans) status quo 25 years later is fully included here, with the scheming machinations of the Jackal on display in the form of a cloned Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man (Ben Reilly). In addition to the “Clone Saga”, Peter Parker contends with more trouble from Doc Ock, Kingpin, Hammerhead, Sandman, Tinkerer, and the Shocker. The collection also includes a two part story featuring Nightcrawler and the Punisher in one of Frank Castle’s early appearances.
The Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Man or Spider-Clone? Epic Collection contains 464 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
