Bill Mantlo Begins ‘Iron Man’ Run in ‘Ten Rings to Rule the World’ Epic Collection

Bill Mantlo puts his iron stamp on the world of Tony Stark in the Iron Man: Ten Rings to Rule the World Epic Collection.

The Epic Collection contains Iron Man #92-114, Iron Man Annual #4, and Marvel Premiere #44.

Mantlo takes over the writing duties on Iron Man after a few stories written and co-written by Gerry Conway, with art provided by George Tuska, Herb Trimpe, Keith Pollard, Carmine Infantino, Keith Giffin, Jack Abel, Don Perlin, Mike Esposito, Pablo Marcos, Fred Kida, Bob Wiacek, Joe Rubinstein, Bruce Patterson, and Rudy Nebres.

The stories, published from 1976 to 1978, add a new level of espionage and industrial and political intrigue to Tony Stark’s world, with a number of extended storylines spanning up to five issues.

Highlights include: accusations of Stark Industries bribing U.S. senators, the return of classic villains like the Unicorn, Ultimo, Madame Masque, Midas, the Melter, and the Mandarin, a journey into space to Wundagore II, a team-up with the Champions against M.O.D.O.K, the all-new Guardsman, and appearances by Sunfire, Jack of Hearts, the Growing Man, Commander Kraken, the Dreadknight, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Wraith, Arsenal, and the Soviet Super-Soldiers (Darkstar, Vanguard, and Crimson Dynamo).

The Iron Man: Ten Rings to Rule the World Epic Collection consists of 480 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
