The Ghost Causes More Trouble for Tony Stark in ‘Iron Man: Return of the Ghost’ Epic Collection

Rogue inventor and hacker The Ghost arrives once again to make Tony Stark’s life more difficult in the second printing of Iron Man: Return of the Ghost Epic Collection.

The collection (originally released in 2019) contains Iron Man #233-244 by the classic duo of Bob Layton and David Michelinie, with additional artwork by Jackson “Butch” Guice, Denys Cowan, Alan Kupperberg, and Barry Windsor-Smith.

The stories take place directly after the “Armor Wars” story arc (1988) and include the title story, as well as team-ups with Spider-Man, Captain America, Ant-Man, and battles with long-time foes such as the Radioactive Man, the Rhino, Blacklash, Blizzard, Boomerang, Grey Gargoyle, and the Mandarin. Tony is also shot by one of his (many) unstable girlfriends, Kathy Dare, leading to a major (if temporary) change for Stark in the double-sized #244.

Return of the Ghost also includes the rare Mike Saenz Iron Man Crash Graphic Novel (touted as one of the first computer generated comics) and Iron Man stories from Marvel Fanfare #22-23 where Shell-Head tangles with Doctor Octopus by Roger McKenzie and painter Ken Steacy and #44 by Steacy which features a showdown with Doctor Doom.

The 480 page Epic Collection arrives in stores once again on December 14 with a suggested retail price of $44.99.
