Dark Horse Comics continues to celebrate the legendary artistry of Richard Corben with the publication of the first Hellboy Artists Collection, featuring all of Corben’s work in the Hellboy universe.
The oversized (8″ X 12″) deluxe format hardcover features a cloth spine and foil cover treatments, and includes more than 300 pages drawn from multiple one-shot specials (Hellboy: Being Human, Hellboy in Mexico, Hellboy: The Bride of Hell, and Hellboy: Double Feature of Evil), the short story Hellboy: The Mirror and Hellboy: Makoma (#1-2), the three issue of Hellboy: The Crooked Man, and the original graphic novel Hellboy: House of the Living Dead.
Mike Mignola called Corben “a genius” and said “I was a fan from the first moment I saw his work in Heavy Metal magazine way back when. I never in a million years thought I’d get a chance to work with him, but I did and it remains a highlight of my career. I wrote The Crooked Man specifically for him and it remains my favorite Hellboy story.”
All of the stories are colored by Eisner award-winning colorist Dave Stewart and lettered by Clem Robins.
Dark Horse Comics announced plans to publish multiple graphic novels as part of the Richard Corben Library in 2022. Dark Horse Comics released Corben’s last series (originally published in a serialized format in Heavy Metal) entitled Murky World in May and the classic Den: Neverwhere in August.
The Hellboy Artists Collection: Richard Corben will be published on May 7, 2024 with a suggested retail price of $49.99.
