2020 hasn’t been a banner year for fun and excitement, and you can now add Halloween branded marshmallow Peeps to the list of cancellations.
PEEPS released an official tweet and press release breaking the bad news to marshmallow and Halloween fans everywhere, but the company did promise Halloween activities and recipes (presumably without Peeps in them) arriving in the near future.
Peeps corporate stated that “While PEEPS® Marshmallow Candies, MIKE AND IKE® and HOT TAMALES® would typically be available in fun shapes and packaging sizes for the Halloween and holiday seasons, unfortunately, the seasonal varieties will not be in stores again until 2021.”
The temporary suspension of production of Halloween (and Christmas and Valentine’s Day varieties) Peeps was made “…to ensure the health and safety of our associates.” The company still plans to release the original chicks and bunnies that put the candy manufacturer on the map this Easter season.
Halloween Peeps include: jack o’ lanterns, black cats, ghosts, and Frankenstein monster heads.
Stay tuned to Conskipper for hopefully more positive Halloween news this season.
