Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with Hasbro, will be bringing the original Marvel Comics G.I. JOE series back to print in the upcoming G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero Compendium Vol. 1.
The collection is the first of its kind, and features the first 50 issues by Larry Hama (who is also writing Skybound/Image’s current series), Herb Trimpe, and Bob McLeod.
Sean Mackiewicz, SVP, Publisher of Skybound said “This compendium marks the beginning of Skybound collecting Hasbro’s incredible backlist of G.I. JOE comics. G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero was my first comic, bursting with incredible characters and intense action, and it’s a pleasure to reintroduce readers to the original Hasbro comics that hooked a generation of fans.”
The huge JOE collection will be printed on newsprint to allow readers to experience the comics just like they did back in the day.
Skybound’s Transformers Compendium will follow G.I. Joe to the stores in 2025.
G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero Compendium Vol. 1 will be available at your local comic book shop on October 2, 2024, and at bookstores and on digital platforms on October 15. The Compendium will retail for $64.99.
