Ghost Rider Enters ‘Deathrace’ in New Epic Collection

Johnny Blaze continues his hellish tenure as Ghost Rider in his latest Bronze Age Epic Collection called Deathrace.

Ghost Rider: Deathrace immediately follows the action in Ghost Rider: The Salvation Run and collects Ghost Rider #29-50, Marvel Team-Up #91, What If #17, and a newer follow-up story in Marvel Tales #256.

All stories are written by Roger Mckenzie, Michael Fleisher, Jim Starlin, Steven Grant, Scott Lobdell, with art by Starlin, Don Perlin, Carmine Infantino, Pat Broderick, Mark Pacella, Jim Mooney, Bob Layton, Rrick Bryant, Ricardo Villamonte, Tom Sutton, Bruce Patterson, Frank Springer, Steve Leialoha, Michael Netzer, Chic Stone, Tony DeZuniga, Alfredo Alcala, Owen McCaron, and Al Milgrom.

Highlights include Fleisher and Perlin’s collaboration on the adventures of Blaze including demonic battles with the Dormammu, The Bounty Hunter, The Cult of Doom, the Nuclear Man, and the Crimson Mage. Blaze’s human ego gets bruised in a feud with hot stunt man Flagg Fargo for the title of America’s premiere stunt cyclist.

The collection also includes two stand-alone issues of note; one featuring the first team-up between Blaze and the original Old West Ghost Rider and one tale written and drawn by Starlin that gives the Epic Collection its title.

The Ghost Rider: Deathrace Epic Collection consists of 472 pages for a suggested retail price of $54.99.
