Geof Darrow’s Shaolin Cowboy return in Dark Horse Comics upcoming seven issue series, Shaolin Cowboy: Cruel to Be Kin.
Darrow will be joined by colorist Dave Stewart for the latest installment in the Eisner-Award-winning Shaolin Cowboy series. The eerily relatable excitement kicks off when the Cowboy “…finds his parenting skills being tested when he is forced to homeschool during a pandemic of unparalleled violence, in a story torn from yesterday’s viral twitter feeds. Can he get a kung fu grip on the situation before a horde of .45 loving human monsters and not so human monsters send him to the ICU?”
Darrow first introduced the character in 2012’s Shaolin Cowboy Adventure Magazine, which featured prose stories by writers Andrew Vachss and Mike Black and accompanying illustrations by Darrow and Gary Gianni.
In addition to the artistry of Darrow and Stewart, Shaolin Cowboy: Cruel to Be Kin will feature variant covers by some of the top talent in the industry such as Mike Mignola and Alice Darrow (issue #1), Frank Quitely and Ed Piskor (issue #2), Stan Sakai and Steve Skroce (issue #3), Duncan Fegredo and Jim Rugg (issue #4), Katsuya Terada (issue #5), James Harren (issue #6), and Tsui Hark (issue #7).
Shaolin Cowboy: Cruel to Be Kin #1 will be available in your local comic shop on May 18, 2022.
