New Epic Collection Asks if Amazing Spider-Man is a ‘Threat Or Menace?’

Dennis O’Neil and John Romita Jr. make their Amazing Spider-Man debut in the new The Amazing Spider-Man: Threat or Menace? Epic Collection.

The Epic Collection includes The Amazing Spider-Man #207-223 and The Amazing Spider-Man Annual ##14-15, originally published between 1980 and 1981.

Along with O’Neil and Romita Jr., the stories include work by Michael Fleisher, Bill Mantlo, J.M. DeMatteis, Roger Stern, Mark Gruenwald, Frank Miller, Jim Mooney, Alan Weiss, Bob McLeod, Luke McDonnell, Alan Kupperberg, Bob Hall, Greg LaRocque, Marie Severin, Keith Pollard, Al Milgrom, Tom Palmer, Klaus Janson, Pablo Marcos, Joe Sinnott, Brett Breeding, Joe Rubinstein, Bob Wiacek, Frank Giacoia, Bob Layton, and Terry Austin.

Highlights in the collection include the first appearance of Madame Web, a New York Marathon assassination plot, a merged Hydro-Man/Sandman, a prison break allegedly caused by Peter Parker, an Aunt May solo adventure, and early appearance of Moon Knight, O’Neil and Miller’s Annuals co-starring Doctor Strange and the Punisher, and battles against Mesmero, a new Frightful Four (with an assist from the Sub Mariner), Kraven, and Speed Demon.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Threat or Menace? Epic Collection consists of 480 pages for a suggested retail price of $54.99.
