EC Comics sci-fi title, Cruel Universe, returns for another, longer series this August with Cruel Universe 2.
The new series expands to 12 issues over the previous five issue Cruel Universe series, with stories by Charlie Adlard, J. Holtham, Kano, Ann Nocenti, David Rubín, and Greg Pak in the first issue.
Cruel Universe 2 #1 will also include an EC Comics science fiction classic from Weird Fantasy #8 from May 1951. The story (titled “The Slave Ship” by Al Feldstein, William Gaines, George Roussos, and Jim Wroten) has been remastered and newly restored to its original coloring as well.
Variant covers by Tom Fowler, Albert Monteys, Malachi Ward, and Liam Sharp will also be available for issue #1, in stores on August 6.
