1992’s original Infinity War comic series spanned months of Marvel’s output in that year, and month’s of crossovers. One of the the rarer sets of those crossovers gets collected in August’s Doctor Strange: Infinity War Epic Collection.
The latest Epic Collection featuring the Master of the Mystic Arts includes: Doctor Strange #34-47, Doctor Strange Annual #2, Silver Surfer #67, and the Spider-Man/Dr. Strange: The Way to Dusty Death graphic novel by Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, Michael Bair, Mark Beachum, and Mark Texeira.
The majority of the tales in the collection are handled by Thomas (with assists by Dann Thomas) and Geof Isherwood, and encompass the lead up to the Infinity War issues with the three part “Great Fear” storyline, all of the Infinity War issues, and numerous guest stars including Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, Daredevil, Frankenstein’s Monster, Wolverine, Doctor Druid, The Scarlet Witch and magical and non-magical adversaries such as Thanos, Galactus, Doctor Doom, Nightmare, D’spayre, and the Juggernaut.
Strangely, the collection only includes the last part of the summer annual crossover, “The Return of the Defenders” (although those issues are still easy to track down for cover price if you want the whole story; there are also some stand-alone Strange stories in the annual).
The Doctor Strange: Infinity War Epic Collection will be in stores on August 24 and contains 480 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
