‘Doctor Strange: I Dormammu’ Epic Collection Continues Some of the Doctor’s Earliest Adventures

The second chronological collection in the Doctor Strange series features some of his earliest adventures and a rather unpopular costume change.

The Doctor Strange: I Dormammu Epic Collection includes comics from 1966 to 1969 in Strange Tales #147-168, Doctor Strange #169-179, The Avengers #61, and Not Brand Echh #13.

I Dormammu contains stories written by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Denny O’Neil, Raymond Marais, Jim Lawrence, Dan Adkins, with art by Bill Everett, Marie Severin, Dan Adkins, Gene Colan, George Tuska, Tom Palmer, John Buscema, Herb Trimpe, George Klein, and Sam Grainger.

Doctor Strange battles with the aforementioned Dormammu, along with Baron Mordo, Nightmare, The Mindless Ones, Voltorg, Lord Nekron, the Sons of the Satannish, Asmodeus, Umar, Eternity, and the Living Tribunal, as he tries to protect the nature of reality across a number of dimensions.

Strange also briefly gets a new blue, full-body jumpsuit that didn’t last long in Doctor Strange #177 (which, “strangely enough”, proved to be the end for the newly rebranded comic. Coincidence?).

The Doctor Strange: I Dormammu Epic Collection consists of 504 pages for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
