The oldest adage in the history of the medium still rings true: Apes sell comics.
DC Comics is putting every ape, gorilla, and chimp in the DC Universe on the cover and in the contents of their ‘Ape-ril Special’ comic book on March 19.
The Ape-ril Special #1 will feature stories by John Layman, Joshua Hale Fialkov, Gene Yang, Karl Mostert, Phil Hester, and Bernard Chang, which begins when Monsieur Mallah forms a new Ape-only Legion of Doom, who is naturally opposed by the more well-mannered and heroic creatures who comprise the Jungle League.
Check out the main cover by Dan Mora, the Crisis on Infinite Earths (talk about a crisis! Just look at the state of that banana!) homage variant cover by Bernard Chang, and a “scratch and sniff-style Banana Scent” variant cover by Hayden Sherman.
